Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.
You’ll also see online events offered here.
And if you’d like free copies of Sky & Telescope‘s Let’s Go Stargazing flyer or door prizes for your next star party, you can fill out this form.

AstroBlast is an annual event hosted by the Oil Regional Astronomical Society of western Pennsylvania. Situated on 25 acres of cleared observing field, Oil Regional offers camping with AC power for telescopes, a shower and bathroom, the David Jones classroom, and the Bruce Bedow observatory (boasting a 30" f/3 Dobsonian) and an unobstructed view of the night sky.
Events will include Observer's Challenges, the Friday Night Pizza Party, Nightly Mixers where we gather and talk about, well . . .anything, and of course our raffle on Saturday evening.
This year's theme is "The Beginning Astronomer". Our nightly talks and discussions will either be for beginners or helping seasoned astronomers to reach out and aide in beginner's growth. So whether you're a seasoned vet with many years of experience or you're just starting out, come join us for 6 days of enjoyment and learning.
You can learn more about us and the facilities at WWW.ORAS.ORG. Hope to see you there!
