Catch a Falling Star

The NASA Glenn Visitor Center in Cleveland, Ohio will be hosting an event entitled: Catch a Falling Star on Saturday, November 17th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In preparation for the upcoming Leonid meteor shower, the public is invited to join us as we discuss the origin of meteorites, the impact they have had on Earth and our understanding of the solar system. At 11 a.m. Dr. Ralph Harvey (field team leader of the Antarctic Search for Meteorites Project) will present “Antarctic Meteorites: Sifting the Sands of the Solar System.” & at 1:00 p.m. Jeff Bassett (Visitor Center guest lecturer) will present “Rocks from Space.” Reservations are required for these free presentations and can be made by calling 216-433-9653.
