Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.

Maria Mitchell Women of Science Symposium

The Second Maria Mitchell Women of Science Symposium will take place on September 23-25, 2021 at the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley, MA. This Symposium is designed to serve as an inspiration and support for women and other minoritized groups studying, working, and teaching in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Speakers and panelists include Nicole Cabrera Salazar, Jen Heemstra, Dionne Hoskins-Brown, Sandra Begay, Chiara Mingarelli, and Tara Spann.
