Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.
You’ll also see online events offered here.
And if you’d like free copies of Sky & Telescope‘s Let’s Go Stargazing flyer or door prizes for your next star party, you can fill out this form.

Online Viewing Session

December 17, 2022 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm EST

Enjoy the wonders of the universe as seen through the “eyes” of the KAS Remote Telescope, located under the dark skies of southeastern Arizona.

Participants will enjoy views of deep-sky objects captured fresh off the system’s CCD cameras in Arizona, transmitted directly to you via the internet on your computer, tablet or smart phone screen. Once the session has concluded, attendees will be provided with a link to download the images captured that night to share with friends and keep as mementos.

Please register for this session using the included link.

If weather conditions are not favorable, there will be a second “cloud date” on December 18th. Postponement or cancellation information will be posted on our website (kasonline.org) and on our social media platforms.
