Pensacola Beach Pavilion Gazes
April 3 @ 6:30 pm - April 4 @ 11:30 pm
In cooperation with the Santa Rosa island Authority, the members of the Escambia Amateur Astronomers will host gazes on the beach this summer, a tradition we started for the bicentennial in 1976. They are held at the Pavilion south of the Beach Ball Water Tower, and parking and admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring the cameras and smartphones to take photos of the sun, moon, and planets visible in the evening sky. We pass out free star charts, identify bright stars and constellations, watch satellite passes, and observe and photograph brighter deep sky objects. Beginners are encouraged to bring of their own telescopes for observing tips, or get advice about buying equipment.
