Southern California Astronomy Expo
July 16, 2011 @ 12:00 am EDT
FUN: Come and join the fun all day long at the SCAE Astronomy Faire on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 starting at 10:00AM! Almost forty different astronomy product manufacturers, organizations, and clubs will be at OPT’s beautiful showroom location to show off their latest creations and talk to you about your wildest astronomy dreams. Whether you are new to the hobby or a seasoned amateur astronomer, we promise you will see and learn something new at SCAE!
EAT: When its time to eat, you can get an inexpensive BBQ meal right at the Faire! Representatives from the San Diego chapter of the International Dark-Sky Association will don aprons, pick up spatulas, and brave the heat of a big barbeque to cook up hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken, and there might just be a salad or two as well! All proceeds will go to this worthy non-profit organization, and your dollars will help fight light pollution in and around San Diego County!
SAVE: OPT celebrates SCAE every year with a two-week sale on most everything we sell. Stop by the showroom while you are at the store on the 16th and save big on most every telescope, eyepiece, CCD camera, microscope, binoculars, or accessory you could possibly want! If you cannot attend SCAE, that’s sad, but at least you don’t have to miss out on the sale! Call OPT or visit our website on Saturday, July 16th and we’ll give you our best sale prices.
WIN: Of course, SCAE wouldn’t be complete without our Giant Raffle and Giveaway Extravaganza, and the prizes this year are very impressive, thanks to our amazing manufacturers! You can read all about prizes, and see the raffle schedule and rules by checking out the Giant Astronomy Faire Raffle page.
VIEW: Nearly every exhibitor will have product out for display and demonstration but since this is a daytime event, the solar telescopes will be a big attraction! Be sure to get down to the lower lawn and take a peek at the sun in all of it’s glory.
COME: We’ll see you at SCAE! Remember, SCAE is free and open to the public, so tell your friends and neighbors and come on down!
