Super Stellar Friday: “The Musick and Astronomy of Sir William Herschel”
March 26, 2010 @ 12:00 am EDT
A prominent scientist of the 18th Century’s Great Enlightenment, self-taught in astronomy and physics, William Herschel discovered Uranus and infrared energy. He and his sister Caroline built the world’s largest telescopes of the era. He was also a respected musician and composer. Discovery Center educator-musician and nationally recognized harpsichordist R.P. Hale re-enacts Herschel’s career in astronomy and his musick on the harpsichord.
