The Givatayim observatory is the oldest and most active public observatory in Israel. Founded in 1969, it is home to the Israeli Astronomical Association. The observatory is open to the public regularly on tuesdays and thursdays, as well as for pre-arranged groups in other days of the week. It also holds courses for adults and elementary school children.
