The Roanoke Valley Astronomical Society is a long standing organization that integrates astronomy and public outreach to provide area residents with a connection to the night sky. The RVAS promotes observing, but does not require that members be avid observers. We recognize that some astronomers prefer to be armchair astronomers, and we embrace them in our group as well as observers. We invite anyone with a love of astronomy to join our group and get ready for some fun.
