SIRIUS is an astronomy association from Constantine, Algeria, devoted in promoting astronomy and science with the public. It is perhaps the largest such association in Algeria and North Africa. It is engaged in a wide range of outreach activities with one of its main component being the the Constantine Cosmos Caravan (CCC) with at its centerpiece a portable planetarium. It is also organizing the yearly National Festival in Popular Astronomy which is the largest gathering of astronomy amateurs in Algeria and perhaps in Africa with attendance of people from all over the region and the World: http://siriusalgeria.net/salon019.htm
The site of the Association which runs into several gigabits of data extensively documents the various astronomy activities which has taken place in Algeria during the past two and half decades. It also contains the crescent observatory campaigns (http://siriusalgeria.net/ramadhan.htm
) in connection with the start of the month of fasting carried out for the past twenty years both in Algeria and the Arab World.
