The Astronomical Society of Harrisburg (ASH) conducts club meetings, public observing sessions at the Naylor Observatory, and public outreach at various locations. There are also member observing events at the observatory and at a number of dark sites in the area. ASH also hosts the Cherry Springs Star Party every year at one of the darkest locations in the eastern United States.
