Shoreline Amateur Astronomical Association
Established May 5th 1989, the Shoreline Amateur Astronomical Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created for the purpose of furthering the enjoyment of amateur astronomy. SAAA membership is open to the public and consists of enthusiasts from Holland, Michigan and it’s neighboring shoreline communities.
SAAA meetings are held in the Macatawa Bay Middle School Planetarium, located at 3700 140th Avenue, Holland, MI on the second Thursday of the month (September — May). Visitors are always welcome!
SAAA also operates a 16-inch SCT at Hemlock Crossing Public Observatory, located at 8115 West Olive Rd, West Olive, MI, where the general public can attend free observing sessions every clear Friday evening throughout the year. SAAA members can schedule assisted observing time on the scope, with 48 hours notice.
