Who We Are

SUBÜ ASTO is the official astronomy club of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ). Based in Sakarya, Turkey, we are a student-run group focused on observational astronomy and science outreach. Our community brings together university students and local enthusiasts to learn about the night sky, share knowledge, and use telescopes together.

Our Mission Our main goal is to introduce astronomy to people of all ages in our city. As part of an applied sciences university, we focus on the practical side of astronomy: setting up telescopes, understanding the sky, and observing celestial objects.

What We Do

Public Observation: We organize "Sakarya Observation Days" on campus and in local parks, inviting the public to look at the Moon, planets, and deep-sky objects through our telescopes.

School Visits: We visit local schools to teach students how to use telescopes and explain basic astronomy concepts.
Seminars: We host talks and workshops for our members to learn about astrophotography and space sciences.

Join Us SUBÜ ASTO is open to anyone interested in space, regardless of their experience level. We provide a friendly environment to learn telescope basics and enjoy the wonders of the universe together.
