Description:
The Moon's orbit around the Earth is not circular, but elliptical. This means that the Moon sometimes comes closer to the Earth and sometimes moves farther away. The point where the Moon is closest to the Earth is called the “perigee” (closest point), and the point where it is farthest away is called the “apogee” (farthest point). On April 13, 2025, a Micro Full Moon was observed at apogee, and on November 5, a Super Full Moon was observed at perigee. The closest full moon is 14% larger and 30% brighter than the farthest full moon.
