Description:

(4) Vesta Asteroid High Resolution. The best time in order to acquire the Vesta’s shape was on June 19th. Unfortunately for the bad weather condition I had to postpone the session of a few days, on July 1th. when Vesta was about 173 533 530 km from the Earth crossing into the Ophiuchus constellation with an angular diameter about of 0.69”. Observing through the eyepiece Vesta has shown a color from the pale yellow to pinkish rose. The target was only 27° above the horizon, the seeing condition was average with a good transparency. As follows some Vesta data (source from Minor Planet Center): Mag.: +5.6, Delta: 1.160AU, Phase: 6.5°. The session has been performed by means the following setup: C11XLT Fornax Mount Barlow Zeiss Camera ASI178M Baader Filter 610 nm
