Description:

M81 (Bode's Nebula) and M82 are a nice pair of galaxies in Ursa Major. I took this the morning of November 1 and used an IDAS NBZ dual HA/O3 filter to enhance the starburst structure in the core of M82. When I observe this through a telescope, I often see M81 and 82 together with a good widefield eyepiece, but often overlooked is NGC 3077. In this picture, I was able to bring out the details my eyes could not. This photograph represents 6 hours of data (360 1-min unguided subs, 50 bias, 20 darks, 20 flats).
