Description:

Nestled within broad swaths of ionized Hydrogen, well-known nebulae such as the Flame (NGC 2024), Horsehead (B33), and IC 434 readily capture one's eye. However, these are but a part of the story. Rather, the entire region begs for exploration and discovery as billowing curtains, glowing in Hydrogen-Alpha, clamor for detection by our camera's chips. This image represents a cropped panorama created using six individual images, each a live stack of 10 30-second exposures.
