Description:

NGC 2336 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Camelopardalis. It is located at a distance of about 101 million light years from Earth, which, given its apparent dimensions, means that NGC 2336 is about 200000 light years across. It was discovered by Wilhelm Tempel in 1876. Along with NGC 2336 is a paired galaxy, IC 467, at a distance of about 104 million light years and at about 0.6 million light years from the companion.
