Description:

The spiral galaxy Messier 66 is found in the constellation Leo. This luminance image details the spiral nature of the galaxy. The galaxy was discovered in 1780 by Pierre Méchain. At star parties this is often shown in rich field telescopes as the Leo Triplet comprising M65, M66, and NGC 3628. Image was a total of 6 hours 20 min exposure.
