Description:
Friday 7/18 was a rare clear night with very good skies. We have had high humidity and wildfire smoke most of the summer. First sub rolled in at 10:28 PM and kept imaging until 4:30 AM. Was able to get 103 exposures at 3 minutes each for a total exposure of 5 hours and 9 minutes. The target is the nebulosity that surrounds the bright star Sadr (Gamma Cygni) in the constellation Cygnus. This wide-field image contains: IC 1318 (Gamma Cygni Nebula), NGC 6888 (Crescent Nebula, DWB 111/119 (Propeller Nebula), M29 (Open Star Cluster), and many more objects. Such a rich and beautiful section of the summer night sky.
