Description:

Was interested to see if I could capture the recently discovered OIII outburst with the CDK24. Theory says I could capture it with about 5% of the time needed for a 100 mm refractor (i.e., aperture^2 light factor minus a few % for secondary mirror obstruction and a few other optic inefficiencies). So 500 hours of OIII in a 100mm would need only 25 hours in the CDK24. Looks like it's possible, with obviously a much smaller FOV. What you see here is only 17 hours of OIII, 2 hours of Ha, 3 hours of R, 4.5 hours of B and 2 hours of G. No L.
