Description:

A composite photo of the October 14, 2023 annular solar eclipse taken from Petroglyph National Monument in Albuquerque, New Mexico. White light photos were taken at timed interval using a Sony A7III hand-held with a 28-200mm lens at 200mm with a ND100000 filter attached. Stepped time intervals varied from 8 minutes during the early stages of the eclipse, and reduced to 4 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, and 30 seconds for the later phases. The final photo, of annularity, was taken with a Star Analyzer 100 diffraction grating attached to the front of the lens, with minimum aperture, ISO, and shutter speed to not overexpose the solar photosphere and spectrum. Individual photos were aligned and composed using Adobe Photoshop to create the composite.
