Description:
pillars of aurora over Humboldt mountain in cave creek arizona. I first arrived just after twilight and witnessed the deep red background glow, after watching for an hour or two. I was getting ready to pack up and just as i grabbed the car door handle, I saw in the reflection of the window the first of many substorms to hit that evening and cast curtains of aurora across the desert landscape. Truly a wonderful moment.
