Description:

Asteroid Florence (3122) is now only 4.6 million miles from Earth with close approach on 1 September at 4.4 million miles. In these images the asteroid is magnitude 9.2 and moving about 1/3 degree per hour across Earth's night skies. The images show different ways of looking at the asteroid with different telescopes and CCD cameras.
