Description:
This photo was taken facing due south from Rocky Bay on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Light pollution from the southern suburbs of Auckland was moderate. This is only the second time I've seen the aurora from the Auckland area (the first time was in 2003). I used a cheap phone and enhanced the image for exposure and colour saturation.
