Description:

The Horsehead nebula is one of my very favorite deep sky objects to image. My first attempts at it were not so good because I was using a stock DSLR camera. Even after I moved up to a dedicated astronomy camera I still felt that I had to take a large amount of long exposures to get the nebulosity to really show up. But now, with the f/2 Celestron RASA, I'm able to get these amazing results with an hours worth of exposures. Also, the dynamic range of the ZWO ASI2600MC Pro allows for amazing contrast between the different types of nebulosity. NGC 2024, the Flame nebula, is an added bonus in this framing.
