Description:

Bode's Galaxy or m 81 is a bright, grand spiral galaxy about 12 million light years away. It is located in the constellation Ursa Major. Known for its spiral arms, which are rich in young stars that are very colorfull. It has a central bulge with older , redder stars surrounding a massive black hole. Beeing galaxy season I have my 8" SCT scope with a .7x starizona reducer corrector and an IR cut filter on my ZWO ASI294mc pro camera. I used about 5 hours of 4 minute subs to obtain this image in a bortle 4 sky from my Rock Top Observatory.
