Description:
On these nights, the brilliant planet Mars shines brightly (still close to Opposition), forming a triangle with the twin stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation Gemini. Mars, a terrestrial planet with a diameter of about 6,779 km and approximately 4.6 billion years old, is known for its reddish hue due to iron oxide on its surface. Castor, a binary star system located about 51 light-years away, consists of six stars and has an age of around 400 million years, exhibiting a mix of white and blue colors. In contrast, Pollux, an orange giant star about 34 light-years from Earth, is roughly 1.5 billion years old and has a diameter about 8.5 times that of our Sun, radiating a warm, golden glow. Together, this celestial trio showcases a stunning display of cosmic colors!
