Description:

Viewable in the Southern Hemishere, Centaurus A (NGC5128) is one of the brightest sources of radio waves in the sky. It is a type of radio galaxy that consists of an optical galaxy located at the center of an immensely larger two-lobed radio source. A dust lane obscures part of the visible galaxy. Centaurus A is about 13 million light years from Earth.
