Description:
What would Charles Messier have thought? He was looking for comets about 250 years ago. In order not to be deceived by immovable objects, Messier created a catalog of foggy objects, the position and visible properties of which he recorded. Comet C/2022 U2 (Atlas) has a period of about 945 years, the supernova emerged from which the Crab Nebula, the number 1 in the Messier catalog, was observed in 1054.
