Description:
Here's a close-up of Comet 13P/Olbers , using a Seestar S50 "smart" telescope. It will make its closest pass to Earth today, July 20, at 176 million miles away. Heinrich Olbers discovered the comet that now bears his name on March 6, 1815, from Bremen, Germany. At that time, it was faintly visible to the unaided eye. It comes by every 68 years, making its last visit in 1956, and we won’t see it again until March 2094.
