Description:
Comet 14P Wolf has returned to Earth's night skies and is about magnitude 19.3 in this image. German Max Wolf discovered the comet in 1884 just 6 days before Ralph Copeland of Scotland found it. 14P has had it's orbit altered twice by close approaches to Jupiter in 1922 and 2005. 14P will only brighten to magnitude 19 in October and then fade below magnitude 20 in 2018. It has an orbit of about 8.8 years.
