Description:

The Moon has moved into the vicinity of Comet 220P/McNaught which can be seen in the color image as a yellowish green glow, especially in the lower left corner. From what could be observed the comet coma was 3.5 arc minutes wide and the dust tail had grown to 7 arc minutes long. Calculations gave a comet magnitude of 10.6, the comet is probably a little brighter since not all of the coma can be observed with the 49% illuminated Moon only 17 degrees WSW of the comet. The Moonlight washed out most of the coma and tail color.
