Description:

This is a combination image and gif of Comet 241P/LINEAR, I am not sure how this will be viewed by the S&T software so if it does not turn out good I apologize. The comet was magnitude 16.9 with a 14" wide Coma, a short Fan Tail 13" long at PA 302 degrees and was 228 million miles from Earth. The comet was at perihelion in it's 10.9 year orbit in July 2021 when it was 178 million miles from the Sun. The comet will make it's close approach to Earth in January 2022 at 142 million miles and will stay at about magnitude 17 until then and then become fainter as it moves away from the Earth and Sun. The small gif in the image showing the comet moving is a collection of 5 images each 240 seconds long. Hope it all works as planned. I was not sure how to scale it since the host software makes adjustments, we shall see.
