Description:

In Earth's night sky Comet 45P is approaching Comet 158P in this image (11 ten minute images stacked on 158P), the comets are only 0.08 degrees apart with 158P showing a clear nucleus but 45P has become a dusty glow as it moves away from Earth. Both comets are about magnitude 20 and are moving ESE. To give some perspective to the image, 45P is 172 million miles from Earth while 158P is 428 million miles from Earth.
