Description:
Comet C/2017 K2 PanSTARRS is theorized to come from a loosely bound group past our solar system, the Oort Cloud. The gravitational pull from passing stars or even the Milky Way itself occasionally dislodge one of these giant balls of rock and ice and send it cruising towards our sun. It became easily visible to amateur astronomers near the beginning of June.
