In these images Comet C/2018 N2 (ASASSN) was 402 million miles from Earth at magnitude 14.5 and was above the Southern Horizon as seen from Denver, Colorado. The comet has a short broad tail to the upper left of the coma. Comet ASASSN will reach perihelion in it's 2,044,228 year orbit on November 11 when it will be 290 million miles from the Sun. Comet ASASSN will make it's close approach to Earth on October 19 when it will be 205 million miles from Earth and is predicted to reach magnitude 11. For those who like to make nice comet portraits with photoshop Comet ASASSN will pass 3 degrees from the center of M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, on November 2.
