In this Gif Comet C/2018 V1 Machholz-Fujikawa-Iwamoto is about magnitude 7 and 71 million miles from Earth. It will be lost in the morning twilight November 28 and reappear in the evening twilight November 30 from Denver. The color Gif shows how the comet is moving rather quickly at 0.14 degrees per hour across Earth's sky. Each red, green and blue image used to create each color image was 60 seconds long. Notice how each star is a red, yellow, green, light blue, blue streak, the result of combining each red, green and blue image stacked on the fast moving comet. The tails are not readily visible in these short color images. The comet will reach perihelion on December 3 when it will be only 36 million miles from the Sun, it should reach magnitude 5 at this time but may be lost in the evening twilight. The comet makes its close approach to Earth on November 27 when it will be 62 million miles from the Earth.
