Description:

In these images Comet C/2021 C3 (Catalina) was magnitude 18.3 with a 12 arc second coma and was 165 million miles from Earth. The comet made it's close approach to Earth this past March at 123 million miles and brightened to about magnitude 17. The comet was at perihelion in it's estimated 504 year orbit this past February when it was 211 million miles from the Sun.
