Description:
Comet C/2021 D2 (ZTF) was magnitude 18.4, 349 million miles from Earth and had a tail at least 0.005 degrees long at position angle 195 degrees from the coma in these images. The comet will be at perihelion in it's orbit in February 2022 when it will be 272 million miles from the Sun and will also make it's close approach to Earth in February 2022 at 234 million miles, it may brighten to magnitude 15 at this time.
