Description:
Comet C/2023 P1 (Nishimura) imaged during the morning twilight of August 22, 2023, as it passed near the open star cluster NGC 2420 in the constellation Gemini. The comet had a brightness of magnitude 9 at that time, with a green coma measuring 5.5 arcminutes in angular size and an ion tail with 12 arcminutes in length.
