Description:

Comet C/2025 K1 (ATLAS) has finally fragmented, most had expected the comet to fragment before it reached perihelion back on 2025 October 8. Reports say the comet has at least 3 fragments. In my low-resolution images one can only see maybe a couple fuzzy areas of fragments trailing behind the comet nucleus since the images were taken with only a small 50mm f/5 Refractor in high cloud conditions. The comet was measured at magnitude G = 9.5 with a 3' wide coma and 10' long tail.
