Description:

Comet C/2025 R3 (PANSTARRS) was only one degree above the Catalina Mountains on the cloudy morning of April 21 when this gif animation of 6 images each 5 seconds long was composed. The comet was observed through a hole in the clouds in bright morning twilight skies. The comet tail was not visible with the clouds and bright skies obscuring it. The comet will move between the Sun and Earth for the rest of the month, making it almost impossible to observe as the comet makes its close approach to Earth on April 26, 45 million miles from Earth. The comet will become observable again low in the evening skies in early May when it will be southwest of Venus. There were no references to calculate the comets magnitude on this morning.
