Description:

Comet C/2015 ER61 Panstarrs is now the mother of Fragment B. The fragment is only 15" (0.004 degrees) from the nucleus of ER61 in Earth's night sky in this image. The image is only 60 seconds to allow seeing Fragment B but not have it get lost in the glare of ER61 and it's tail. Thus not much of ER61's tail is seen in this image.
