Description:
This is a single 30 second exposure of Comet Lemmon taken on Oct.24, 2025 at 8:35pm in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is getting harder each year to find a wilderness area unaffected by Light Pollution. This image was taken from a dark wilderness area. The naturally occurring airglow a type of sky glow was quite bright on this night. Unlike man made light pollution on earth it is impossible anywhere on earth to escape the light pollution from satellite trails in space. In the 1990's it was very rare for a satellite track to be in one of my photos, now it is impossible to avoid and the problem is getting much worse each year. All the straight lines that look like scratches are from satellite trails, I could try to remove them but decided not to in order to illustrate the problem
