Description:

Comet Leonard is now easily visible in binoculars in the predawn sky, near Arcturus in Boötes. This photo from the morning of December 5, 2021, spans 2.7 x 1.8 degrees with north up and east to the left. The bright star below and to the right of the comet's green-glowing coma is 4.8-magnitude d Boötis; the tiny edge-on galaxy in the lower-left corner is NGC 5523.
