Description:
The countdown for the great comet of 2024, Tschuchinshan-Atlas, has already begun! This image belongs to the previous bright naked-eye comet, NEOWISE (C/2020 F3), which lit up our skies for weeks during the summer of 2020. To capture this image, I sought a clear horizon and ventured to an altitude of 3,300 meters in the central Alborz mountains, north of my hometown, where the view was dramatic! Thanks to the fast aperture of the my lens, I set up my camera for short exposures of 5 seconds each. This allowed me to create a series of images for further processing. This image results from combining 100 individual frames of the sky and 30 frames for the terrestrial background, revealing fascinating details of the comet's tails.
