Description:
I planned this photograph of Comet C/2024 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) knowing that a great view of the comet over the High Sierras would be from the Eastern High Sierras on the other side of the Owens Valley. The Sierra View Overlook is at about 9,400 feet near Grandview Campground. A crowd of comet watchers patiently waited for the comet to appear in the clear skies.
