Description:
A very rare phenomenon to share this week, this comet which is near maximum brightness currently displays a preceding and following dust debris trail seen here as a thin gauzy line extending from the comets head in east and west directions. This very deep shot also shows the comets brilliant nuclear region surrounded by a blue/green coma, but no significant tail. In 53 years of comet imaging, I have never seen such a well defined structure as this. Technical Data: 7/10/26, 11" f/2.2 RASA astrograph, ASI6200mm + Baader LRGB filters, Integration time = 1h total, Happy Jack, Az.
