The Cone Nebula is part of the NGC2264 complex in Monoceros. The cold dark cone structure is backlit by the bright emission of ionized hydrogen while young hot blue stars from the Christmas Tree Cluster accent the field.The cone is about 7 light-years long and 2700 light-years away from Earth
